Dawinder "Dave" S. Sidhu is of counsel at the law firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon, LLP.  Prior to entering private practice, Dave taught constitutional law, criminal law, employment discrimination, and
national security at the Georgetown University Law Center, the University of Baltimore School of Law, and the University of New Mexico (where he received tenure). 
As a public servant, Dave has
been Special Assistant to the Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission and a fellow at the Supreme Court of the United States.  Dave began his legal career in the policy arm of the U.S. Department of
Education's Office for Civil Rights and as a law clerk to a federal district court judge.  A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, his writings have appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Baltimore Sun, The Atlantic, The New Republic, and SCOTUSblog, among other places.

Dave earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, master's degree from Johns Hopkins University, and law degree from The George Washington University Law School.  He joined the Maryland bar in 2004 and is a graduate of the MSBA Leadership Academy.  Dave is an avid hockey fan and he enjoys spending time at the C&O Canal Park.
